3G iPhone. The Phone of the Future

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

So, as you all know, Apple recently came out with a better version of the iPhone, the 3G. Able to surf the internet “a gazillion times faster” than the original iPhone that came out just last year. Already out selling the first iPhone, the 3G will soon reach the 6 million sold mark within just 7 weeks of being out on the market. It seems as if consumers are very confident in the new iPhone, despite a weak battery. Personally, I am a bit old school still. My friends have told me that I am the only one on the planet not wanting an iphone. Let’s just say, I am waiting for it to be able to do my laundry, then I’ll consider switching over. I can’t fathom relaying solely on a phone to check my emails, update my facebook account, and listen to my itunes. I would be to nervous and the day I break, lose or have it stolen is the day I commit myself to an insane asylum.

I am not arguing that it isn’t an awesome phone. I think it is amazing! I for one, simply wouldn’t trust myself with its wonderment. I will stick with my nifty slider phone, that I accidentally drop all the time without having repercussions, well, so far. I think its great that applications, once only viewable on a computer, can be applied to the iphone, opening a whole new platform for application developers, like Where I’ve Been, to show their fun and functional apps in a portable way.

Legos Everywhere!!!

Friday, August 8th, 2008

The Liberty Bell is made out of Legos! I went to Philadelphia for a few days to visit the fam and I stumbled across the Liberty Bell in the Philadelphia International Airport!! I had no idea they had moved it! When I got closer to it, I discovered that it was made entirely out of Legos! They even included the detail of the engraving “Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants thereof Lev. XXV X
By Order of the ASSEMBLY of the Province of PENSYLVANIA for the State House in Philada.
Pass and Stow Philada MDCCLIII”.

It was really amazing to see what the people at Lego can come up with. These little building blocks can make anything. Just when you think that Lego has done everything, you see the Liberty Bell tucked away in Terminal A. Next time you have a lay over in Philly, do at least one of two things: Check out the Liberty Bell halfway down Terminal A, grab a bag of Herr’s Sour Cream and Onion potato chips. You won’t be sorry with either thing you decide to do.
