Tickets For Charity: Lending A Helping Hand

Friday, May 29th, 2009

In today’s world it is very easy for all of us to sit back and focus on our needs and ourselves. Stocks are low, unemployment is high and the price of gas is ridiculous, yet, despite all of this people are still finding new and innovative ways to help others.

Yesterday one of our clients, Tickets For Charity, whose newly branded site we designed, was featured on the Today Show for their fund raising efforts toward various charities. This organization has partnered with numerous sports teams and artists to create an online ticketing system where 100% of the proceeds go to charities.

On their About Us page of the website, Tickets For Charity states, “We were founded to help increase critically-needed funding for leading charities by offering music and sports fans an easy way to access great seats while supporting important causes.” With this being said, Tickets For Charity has already raised millions of dollars for numerous charities around the world and seems in no way to be slowing down.

Even though Tickets For Charity is not a non-profit organization itself, it has created a network of charities and celebrities whose common goal is to provide assistance and care for those who cannot provide it for themselves. It is organizations and people such as these who perpetuate hope in dismal times such as these. Siri: A New Wave in Technology

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Have you ever felt like there aren’t enough hours in the day; or like if you just had a personal assistant then your life would be that much easier? Then you will definitely appreciated Siri, a soon to be virtual assistant (VA) application for the iPhone and other Smart phones.

At first glance this application is no different that an Internet browser. However, Siri has an interactive database that not only allows it to book dinners, buy movie tickets and search local establishments for you, but also offers suggestions and asks questions so you can achieve your goal. Likewise, because Siri is geared toward people on the move it has a voice option that allows the user to simply speak into their phone and the application complies.

Yet, the best part of this product is the fact that is uses your phone’s GPS feature to track where you are and combines that with the time of day, which allows it to provide you with restaurants in the area, movie listings and ultimately help you plan your entire day or weekend.

Siri is still in the developmental stages. This past week the company did its first public demonstration and it will still be a while before they work all the kinks out and determine how personalized it can be. However, when this application becomes available I believe that it will be a new wave in technology and virtual assisting.

Taunt ‘n flaunt with Stadium Stops

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Do you love sports? Are you competitive? Do you attend games on a regular basis and need somewhere to document your experiences? Then come check out our awesome Facebook application, Stadium Stops. Whether you want to challenge your friends on upcoming games, or brag that you’ve been to over 30 stadiums across the U.S.A, Blueye has created a fun, addictive application for all sports lovers, young and young-hearted, to enjoy.

There are several key features of the app that I’d like to highlight. First, and foremost, is the map. Here, you can add the stadiums you have visited over time. One of the cool things about the map is that you can rate the stadium of your choice, add photos of you in your courtside seat for all to see, and share your experiences. You can also compare your map with your friends, and view where they have been and you have not… yet!

If you feel like unleashing your competitive side, you can with the UChallenge button on Stadium Stops. Select your teams, customize them, and pick upcoming games to challenge your friends. If you want to really get back at your friends, you can take humiliation to a whole new level and taunt your friends over Facebook. The taunt will be immediately visible for all to see on the Fb news feed!

So, start inviting your friends to use the application today. Check out the schedule of upcoming games, and go head to head with your buddies right now!

Got questions about Stadium Stops? Then feel free to email us anytime!
